Mladen Malakov is a Bulgarian clarinetist, among the artists of Bulgarian folk music. He gained great popularity among the public and many followers among the musicians, starting one of two currents in clarinet playing in wedding music (the other was mainly influenced by Ivo Papazov).

In 1982, he founded the “Bisseri” Orchestra, and in the 1990s he played with the accordionist Ibro Lolov’s band.

Mladen Malakov was born on September 4, 1956 in Lozarevo, Karnobat region, in a Roma family of hereditary musicians. He settled in Kotel and from an early age began to play with his father, mainly at weddings, first on drums and then on clarinet.
